Connecting with Stray Lives, Spreading the Warmth of Adoption
On 28 June 2026, we visited Bukit Beruang, Melaka, and participated in the stray animal adoption event organised by PPHM Organisation. Through this meaningful experience, we aimed to raise public awareness about stray animals and promote the concept of “Adopt, Don’t Shop”.
During the event, PPHM Organisation organised an adoption fair to help stray dogs and cats find loving and responsible families. We witnessed heartwarming moments where adopters met these animals for the first time and welcomed them as new members of their families.
At the adoption fair, every animal waiting for adoption had a personalised information tag that shared its unique life story. By learning about these stories, we discovered that every stray animal had experienced different journeys, including how they were rescued and brought to the organisation, the challenges they had faced, their current age, and their living conditions. These stories allowed us to better understand the difficulties faced by stray animals and appreciate the dedication behind animal rescue efforts.
Besides participating in the adoption event, we assisted in capturing photographs and promoting the event through visual documentation. We also interviewed children at the event to understand their awareness and perspectives regarding animal welfare and the importance of caring for stray animals.
In addition, we interviewed the founder of PPHM Organisation to learn about the motivation behind establishing the organisation, their journey in helping stray animals, and the continuous efforts they have made through rescue, care, and adoption programmes. PPHM Organisation also advocates initiatives such as the “One Ringgit a Day Sponsorship Programme” and animal sterilisation efforts to reduce the number of abandoned animals through long-term solutions.
This adoption event also marked PPHM Organisation’s first collaboration with a municipal organisation, representing an important milestone in their growth and development in animal welfare. Through this experience, we gained a deeper understanding of how an adoption event operates and realised that every animal deserves love, care, and a second chance at life.
Through sharing these stories and experiences, we hope to inspire more people to pay attention to stray animal welfare and contribute towards building a kinder and more compassionate society.
